Proper nutrition is critical to a child’s development. Not having enough of the right kinds of food can have serious implications for a child’s physical and mental health, academic achievement and future economic prosperity.
Our 2016 Goal is to be feeding 1 Million meals a month to children in need across the United States.
Together, we can win the war against childhood hunger in the United States.
As of 2014, 15.3 million kids in the United States struggle with food insecurity. The USDA defines food insecurity as a state in which consistent access to adequate food is limited by a lack of money and other resources at times during the year.
Children who regularly do not get enough nutritious food to eat tend to have significantly higher levels of behavioral, emotional and academic problems.
One of our current partners, Regional Food Bank, is a nonprofit company helping us create and distribute meals to those in need.
